In June of 2014 my family took a HUGE leap and moved to an island in the Pacific Northwest. We are all from the PNW, so there was no issue with the climate, however we went from having no plans to ever leave Portland, to moving to an island near Seattle in a 3 month window. It was a SHOCKER for us and our family & friends!
Since then my 3 kids are growing out of control, I now have a Teenage Daughter taller than me, Twin Tween boys, a Great Dane that is more grey than black and I am WELL into my 40's.
The last almost 7 years have been fun and exciting. But not without challenge, and doubt at times. We bought our forever dream home!
Here's a look at what two years in looked like:
To now:
We knew NO ONE when we moved here and it has been so fun becoming friends with so many new people. We love friends.
I worked full time for almost 20 years in the Fashion/Footwear Industry for wholesale companies, in Sales and Account Management with both large and small Retailers. I traveled A LOT for work. About a year and a half ago, I had an exit plan. Tim and I have always talked about me stepping back as our kids got older, to be more present, less stressed and at home more. "The Plan" happened a bit sooner than expected, so we went for it. Although we did it backwards, I have to say, this was one of the best decisions that we ever made as a family. FOR SURE.
With this school year starting off remotely, things are a bit different around here. I do have more time than ever before to cook and work on projects around our house and property, and I have always found time to look for things I love. I am going to see what I can do with this site, keep it as up to date as possible and keep adding to it. Starting with the fact that I am...
Always hungry, and I love to cook for my family and friends..... come over!
There is always something to fix or update in my home.
I am very active so my jeans will fit. And thank gawd for stretch denim.
I get asked often about what I am cooking, wearing, buying etc. So this space is for organizing things I get asked about.
FOOD
PROJECTS (never ending)
WHAT AM I LOVING to wear, or for my house, or trying, using, etc.
I will add as I go...I have a lot of ideas... but, I really have no actual experience blogging or organizing all of this all in one place for the world to see, it is intimidating and scary for me.... so please suggest away. I will add my thoughts and ideas about pretty much anything you all want to chat about.
They say getting out of your comfort zone makes you better.
As my friends who have pushed me to do this for years are always saying, "you're doing this anyway, put a damn ring on it."
Here we go.....
